Before travelling overseas, please check immunisation requirements for your destination country. Unfortunately not all vaccines are available in Japan, and the range available in Iwate is even more limited.
A fuller range of immunisations is available at the Tôkyô International Clinic (Tel: 03-3582-2646). They can supply some immunisations (Malaria immunisation tablets) through the mail. There are English-speaking staff members so it is advisable to call and discuss your needs with them. They are closed on Sundays, with a half-day on Saturdays. The hours are 09:00–12:00 and 14:30–17:00.
Some immunisations, as well as malaria prophylactic tablets are apparently available from the city (shiritsu) hospital in Sendai.
Remember to allow enough time to complete the full course of injections before leaving for your holiday, as often you may need three injections over a period of two to three months.
